How Do I Get Rid of Cellulite - It Is Really Possible?
What Causes Cellulite?
Up to 95% of all women and around 10% of men develop cellulite. The massive disparity of cellulite occurrence between genders points to a hormonal cause. The female hormones estrogen and progesterone appear to contribute heavily to cellulite development, and not only that, but heredity also plays a factor. Your mom, aunt, sister, grandma, and cousin has cellulite? Then odds are, you will too.
Is It Possible to Get Rid of Cellulite?
Weight gain contributes to the appearance of cellulite as the fat pockets grow larger and more pronounced. Similarly, the reduction of total body fat will, sooner or later, minimize the appearance of cellulite in most cases.
Since cellulite refers more to the appearance of fat rather than the fat itself, the answer to the question -- is it possible to get rid of cellulite? -- is both yes AND no.While it's possible to eventually "get rid of" the appearance of cellulite through diet, exercise and other remedies, you won't actually be getting rid of it. It will still be there, you just won't be able to see it. In addition to weight loss through diet and exercise, many doctors recommend strength training to build and strengthen muscles as a way to further minimize the appearance of cellulite.
High End Cosmetic Procedures - Good or Bad?
You may be asking yourself, is it possible to get rid of cellulite through plastic surgery? The answer to that question is no, no, no!
Liposuction is not a good treatment, as this surgical procedure is designed to remove stubborn layers of fat that lie beneath the muscles of the abdomen, thighs, etc. It is not designed to remove subcutaneous fat. Liposuction makes no distinction between cellulite and the stringy septae structures holding skin to muscle. Fat removal here results in damaged septae, excess bleeding, extreme discomfort and unpredictable results. In fact, liposuction could very well make things worse!
Add on the outrageous cost of liposuction into the mix and you're looking at one of the absolute WORST ways to get rid of cellulite.
Massage Therapy For Cellulite
There are several anti-cellulite massage treatments that employ vigorous massage techniques -- with or without the use of various anti-cellulite creams -- to loosen cellulite fat cells and make the skin stronger.
Endothermie is one such massage treatment developed in France that claims to improve circulation and increase metabolism of cellulite cells. 10 sessions may achieve moderate results; although, results are temporary.
Other methods may include cellulite massage rollers (my personal favorite) and handheld massage tools. They're far cheaper and usually significantly more effective. Check out my cellulite massager review page to find out which one I like best.
Anti Cellulite Creams
Although there are numerous skin care products on the market claiming to be effective anti cellulite treatments -- ranging in price from low to absurdly high -- only a select few products deliver impressive results. In fact, I'd say 97% of all cellulite creams are complete crapola, and I am not exaggerating.
Most are just cheap moisturizers that keep your skin hydrated and do little else for cellulite reduction goals. If you want to find out about anti-cellulite products that actually work, then I suggest taking a long look at my cellulite creams review page to find out which ones are worth using. Apart from those, you're far better off using natural remedies and at home cures rather than cheapo creams & gimmicky lotions.
